This man God raised on the third day and granted that he be made visible.

Easter is a compelling time of year. During the Triduum or the last three days we have spiritually reflected on a dramatic set of events that happened many years ago. Jesus was betrayed by one of his closest followers who turns out to have been a liar and a thief. Another one of his closest followers denied Jesus three times, and even then while Jesus was in a time of most need. Jesus endured mockery, brutal beatings, hunger, thirst, and of course a gruesome crucifixion. Not only that, but Jesus was never even charged with a crime. His innocent life was taken brutally.
So what's the take home then for Easter after all that? Is it despair or despondency? Of course not! It's a powerful message because Jesus rose from the dead, so God overcame the grave. "Nothing is impossible with God. Life triumphed over death. And love triumphs over hatred. Hope triumphs over despair. And that suffering is not the last word." (excerpts from Father J Martin) That's the Easter message I hope you will keep in your heart.
