            WBVM  welcomes all college students and high school graduates who have a desire to learn more about radio and communications. An internship with Spirit FM can lead to success in the radio and broadcasting business in a number of areas.  Internships are open to students who are studying communications, marketing, radio and television, computer science, or electronic engineering.  Internships are not paid positions; however, students earn college credit for the semester/quarter. Therefore, all applicants must be enrolled in college and have an interest in radio, journalism, telecommunication, marketing, and/or liberal arts programs that apply to communication.  WBVM has relationships and may post job openings at the University of South Florida, Tampa; Hillsborough Community College; St. Petersburg College; Pasco/Hernando Community College; St. Leo University.  WBVM will also accept interns and job applicants from professional trade schools.

 

 
            In 2002, WBVM had one full time opening for the position of Program Director.  Fifteen resumes were submitted, three were interviewed, one was hired.  The Crux, The Florida Catholic Newspaper, Diocese of St. Petersburg Pastoral Bulletin, church bulletins, allaccess.com, pdadvisor.com, and christianradioweekly.com were all used as recruitment tools.
 
            In November 2003, WBVM had one full time opening for an Operations Manager/Engineer.   Twenty-two (22) resumes were submitted, two were interviewed, one hired.  Sources of recruitment were:   allaccess.com, (Society of Broadcasting Engineers) sbe.org, pdadvisor.com, Diocese of St. Petersburg Pastoral Bulletin, various church bulletins, staff volunteers and internship program.  Source of final hire was the sbe.org website.

 

 

 

           In June 2003, WBVM had one full time opening for the position of Promotion Director.  Over 20 resumes were submitted, five were interviewed and one was hired.  The Pastoral Bulletin, Church bulletins, allaccess.com, pdadvisor.com and christianradioweekly.com were all used as recruiting tools.

 

            In May 2004, WBVM had one full time opening for the position of Promotion Coordinator.  20 resumes were submitted, six were interviewed and one was hired. The Diocese of St. Petersburg Pastoral Bulletin, local church bulletins, allaccess.com, pdadvisor.com and christianradioweekly.com, WBVM Internship program and "word of mouth" were all used as recruiting tools.  WBVM Internship Program was source of final hire.
 
            In August 2005, WBVM had one full time opening for the position of Program Director. Fourteen (14) resumes were submitted, four applicants were interviewed resulting in one hire.  Sources of recruitment were:  Diocese of St. Petersburg Pastoral Bulletin, local church bulletins, hisair.net, allaccess.com, pdadvisor.com, and Christian Radio Weekly.  Allaccess.com was the source of the final hire.
 
            In August 2006, WBVM had one full time opening for the Afternoon Drive/Traffic Manager position.  Twenty-one (21) resumes were submitted, five were interviewed, two full time positions were created/hired.  Sources of recruitment were: Diocese of St. Petersburg Pastoral Bulletin, local church bulletins, hisair.net, allaccess.com, pdadvisor.com, WBVM Internship and Volunteer Program, and "word of mouth."  Allaccess.com and internal promotion were sources of final hires.
 
October 2007-September 2008
Program Director position was available November 2007.  Thirty five applicants applied for the position.  Four applicants were interviewed.  Hired applicant was promoted from within.  Recruitment sources included allaccess.com, dioceseofstpete.com, spiritfm905.com, parish bulletins throughout the Diocese of St. Petersburg, hisair.net and word of mouth.

 

January 2008
Evening announcer/webmaster position.  Three applicants were interviewed.  Hired applicant came from "word of mouth."   Other recruitment sources included postings at the Catholic Student Center at the University of South Florida, parish bulletins, dioceseofstpete.org, hisair.net, spiritfm905.com and allaccess.com.
 
May 2010
Director of Development and Fundraising position was created.  Twenty three applicants were screened.  Four were interviewed resulting in one hire.  Recruitment sources included, allaccess.com, hisair.net, Spirit FM website, Association of Fundraising Professionals--Suncoast Chapter, suncoastafp.org, Diocese of St. Petersburg Pastoral Bulletin, dosp.org, area church bulletins and word of mouth.  Hired applicant from word of mouth and Association of Fundraising Professionals.
 
May 2010
Part time Announcer/Producer position was created.  Six applicants were screened and one hired.   Recruitment sources included allaccess.com, hisair.net, Spirit FM website, Spirit FM internships and volunteers program, Diocese of St. Petersburg Pastoral Bulletin, dosp.org, area church bulletins and word of mouth.  Hire was made through Spirit FM volunteer and internship program.
 
September 2010
