Abby went on a Women's Emmaus retreat over the weekend. It was at the Franciscan Center in Tampa. She says, "If it's coming to your church, do it! If it's not coming to your church, go talk to someone about bringing it there!" The theme of the weekend is, of course, the road to Emmaus from Luke 24:13-35.
One of Abby's favorite parts of her retreat weekend was the labrinth. Walking the labyrinth is an ancient spiritual practice, often associated with pilgrimage. In times of difficulty and unrest it can calm the body and mind so that we can be more open to God's movement in our lives. The Franciscan Center labyrinth is available to all for walking meditation.
