James 3:17
But the wisdom from above is first of all pure, then peaceable, gentle, compliant, full of mercy and good fruits, without inconstancy or insincerity.
I grew up being called a wiseguy. Sorry to say, I don't think it was a compliment. I had a reputation in my family for being a person who knows a lot of things but I was not very good at sharing that knowledge without being a little... (I'm trying to be careful with my word choice here) snotty about it. For some reason I had a chip on my shoulder and I had to let everyone around me know how smart I was all the time. As I matured I learned the difference between knowledge and wisdom. But to this day I still have a hard time sharing my knowledge with those around me in a wise way. Fortunately I have this verse to guide me when I'm trying to share my knowledge. Nobody wants to hang out with a "know it all", but everyone wants a gentle, merciful person of knowledge on their trivial pursuit team!
