Once of the most common prayers we offer to God as Christians is for guidance. "What do I do, Lord? Give me a sign!", we pray desperately. Sometimes, God answers this prayer through the people and situations we'd expect (pastors, during church services, etc.) but other times He speaks using means we don't expect. Those who saw Jesus grow up and come of age in their native place had a hard time believing in Him. They couldn't fathom how this carpenter who they knew since childhood could possibly be sent by God. They hardened themselves to the message because of the messenger. I know I've done the same thing in the past and maybe you have too. By God's grace, may we never miss out on what God is trying to tell us just because it comes from an unexpected place. May we always be listening.
