Mark 2:5
When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, "Child, your sins are forgiven."
You have a situation in your life and you need help. So you ask family, friends or neighbors if they wouldn't mind helping you. Sometimes the situation is maybe a ride somewhere because the car is in the shop, or you're sick and need someone to get some meds for you. But do you ever ask people for prayers?
In today's reading, we hear the story of the healing of the paralytic. Jesus is teaching in a house, but it's so crowded not everyone can enter. So some crafty friends of a paralyzed man climb to the roof and lower him down to Jesus. He sees this and is so touched by the faith of the friends that he heals the paralytic. These friends went way out of their way to bring hope to the paralyzed man. They had faith in the healing touch of Jesus, and wanted to experience it firsthand. The faith of these friends brought instant healing to the individual through a personal encounter with Christ. We should also notice that one person's need can be helped by the merits of another. That's why we, at Spirit FM, offer prayer to one other on the radio and in person. We want you to have a personal encounter with Christ. As these friends brought the paralytic to Jesus, so to do we want to bring your needs to Christ. A friend helping a friend, both physically and spiritually.
