Titus 3:4-5
"When the kindness and generous love of God our savior appeared, not because of any righteous deeds we had done but because of his mercy, He saved us through the bath of rebirth"
I closed my eyes to memorize these verses and then posted them to reflect on. I mistakenly typed "path" instead of "bath". What a difference a word makes! I struggle to stay on the "path" that God has placed me on. I seek to stay on the "path" that keeps me in God's favor . I walk the "narrow road" to get to Heaven. I plan my day so carefully and want to always discern my call and where I should be. Perhaps too much so. How can that be?
Could I be so focused on "the walk" that I missed the ability of God to be spontaneous and work in my life instantly? We call following Jesus "the way" meaning to live our lives according to His way, the gospels have spelled that out for us. The "bath" of rebirth, our baptism, is an instant of Holy intervention that changed our lives forever! In an instant! Like the snap of fingers or a clap of thunder! We probably didn't even feel it, it just happened!
I will plan to do something spontaneous today.. Oh there I go again.. Planning that path. Maybe I will just rest in prayer today and let God be spontaneous. I will pray He continues to mold me and change me according to His design. I will try and leave my plans alone for awhile and rest in His presence.
