Open your Ears and Speak

By John Morris
What do you do when you receive good news?

Mark 7:35-36

And immediately the man's ears were opened, his speech impediment was removed, and he spoke plainly.  He ordered them not to tell anyone. But the more he ordered them not to, the more they proclaimed it.

Jesus encounters many people who need healing.  Yesterday we read about a woman who's daughter was possessed by demons.  She was healed.  Today we find a man who is deaf, and that has impacted his speech.  When Jesus heals the man, he immediately couldn't help but be excited.  Jesus tells him not to tell anyone, but the man and his companions could not help it….they had to tell people this good news.

When God does something great in your life, what do you do?  Do you shout it from the rooftops or do you keep it to yourself?  Do you give credit to the doctors, family members, your coaches or your own talent? Or do you give all the credit to Jesus?  Maybe it's a mix of both.  When an opportunity arises at work or with friends to say something about how Jesus is working in your life?  Maybe you're uncomfortable doing that.  Most of us are.  We should always proclaim the name of Jesus, for the miraculous events in our lives, and the little, mundane events.  Life is a gift from God.  Let us always give Him Praise!!!!
