Not Trying to be Esoteric

By Elle
What have you done so far today?

Psalm 100:3
Know that the Lord is God; he made us, his we are: his people, the flock he tends.

What have you done so far today?  Did you get news updates, have coffee or tea, run errands or exercise? Have you spent time reflecting who you are and why you are here right now?  I'm not trying to be esoteric. On any given day I have been up for hours, doing just those things. I am so structured with my time that I have to schedule in a time to sit still and ask those questions.  I become less stressed when I remember who I am (a child of God) and that what I am doing comes from who I am, who God made me to be, and not from my activities and obligations or how others define me.
We are here now because this is where God wants us. We exist because God made us.  And  He loves us so much he sent Jesus to give his life up for us.  So when the day wears on and you are feeling a little overwhelmed, I hope you (and me) can focus on seeing ourselves as a part of God's flock, and know that he watches over us. And then let our activity, errands, sports, leisure time stem from there.
