It's never too late to make a change. In this scripture the gardener asked for more time.. This liturgical year is special as a "Year of Mercy" and it ends with the beginning of the Advent Season right after Thanksgiving. Do we have time to reconsider acts of mercy and charity that we may have had as good intentions but not followed through? I know I have put off that quiet prayer time or that comsistent time I meant to spend listening to a loved one, and I still have that card in my car for a special gift for someone I know who is in need of emotional support.
And how quickly the time goes by we say. Let's try to slow down our time this weekend and really enjoy some special moments with those we love and perhaps with someone in need. This time of year there are lots of Fall Festivals anf football tailgate parties. Even the weather is cooperating and changing ever so slightly, so it is a nice time to be outside. Look for an opportunity to go out and "cultivate" our communities with good will and kindness.
