John 14:10
How can you say, "Show us the Father?" Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me?" (Jesus)
Do you not know me? Has that ever been a complaint to a close friend or even a family member? I have had that moment where I presume someone knows my intentions, what I mean or how I feel and then I am surprised when they tell me they did not have any idea how I was feeling or what I meant to say. Just the other day I was practicing how to tweet and having fun with the Twitter account I have. I asked my kids to "text" when I meant to say "tweet" . I'm still laughing about it.
Jesus explained the Trinity to his apostles and that is a mystery to us even with the bigger picture we have today. Can you imagine hearing for the first time these words of Christ? He is actually in the Father and the Father is in him? They lived with Jesus day in and day out, and they seem a bit surprised when you read this passage in John 14. The apostles had legitimate questions. It's not like the apostles could Google search Jesus to find more information.
Let's pray today we use our gift of faith instead of a Google search and spend some time thanking our Heavenly Father for sending the Son to us. Recognize the dignity that gives us as humans made in the image and likeness of God-man Jesus!
