I've Got a Secret

By John Morris
Feelings change when the secret is about you....

Luke 12:2

There is nothing concealed that will not be revealed, nor secret that will not be known.

There's a saying, "It's hard to keep a secret."  For me, truer words were never spoken.  It's really hard to keep a secret, for various reasons.  Many of us entrust information to friends or coworkers.  Depending on the environment, sometimes those confidences are difficult to keep close to the vest.  I don't know about you, but when I find out about a secret, it's hard to keep it.  It makes us feel good inside knowing that someone entrusted us with information before everyone else knows about it.  Part of the adrenaline rush of being in the news business is that you know the story before everyone else does.  However, those feelings can change when the secret is about you.  There are many things that we don't want others to know about us.  Many of these might be sinful things.  Even the best people sin.  It was said that Pope John paul the 2nd went to confession weekly because he wanted forgiveness.  He kept nothing from God.  Today's scripture tells us that God knows all.  We can't keep secrets from Him.  He knows all, even down to the cells in our body.  So there's no sense in hiding your sins.  It's best to ask for forgiveness always from those you've offended and ask God to forgive you for those things that you can't hide from Him. Finally, if someone asks you to keep something confident, then do it.  I have to practice that, and I would say you probably do to.
