Matthew 19:25-26
When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished and said, "Who then can be saved?" Jesus looked at them and said, "For human beings this is impossible, but for God all things are possible."
Anyone who has ever dealt with toddlers are familiar with the phrase "I do it!" It's a beautiful time of life when a child wants to do things for themselves. Like pour a glass of milk from a full gallon jug into a tiny sippy cup. You know it will be a disastrous mess but if you don't let them try there will be an hour long meltdown. It's funny how little we change as we age. We think we are past things like "I do it" but we still try to do it all ourselves. The leaders of Jesus' time thought that following the letter of the law would get them to heaven. But here He reminds us that it's only by the grace of God that we can enter. So let's all stop behaving like toddlers and let God take over.
