John 6:35
Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me will never hunger, and whoever believes in me will never thirst."
Will there be food there? This is probably one of the most common questions people have about Heaven. The most intriguing answer I've heard in recent memory was the one Don Piper, the author of 90 Minutes in Heaven, gave me. He said meals were indeed enjoyed in Heaven but not because our glorified bodies need nourishment, but for the sheer pleasure of eating. As someone who loves a good meal, I was pretty satisfied with his answer. But as good and pleasurable as food is, it's only a faint shadow of the deep and total nourishment that Christ offers us. It is the antidote to the earthly cycle of hunger-consumption-satisfaction-hunger-consumption-satisfaction. He is the Bread of Life and a food that provides something so much more fulfilling than physical nourishment - a share in His very Life and total fulfillment forever! I've had some great meals here on earth but nothing comes close to even coming close to that.
