Matthew 9:11-12
The Pharisees saw this and said to his disciples, "Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?" He heard this and said, "Those who are well do not need a physician, but the sick do."
For the majority of people, a visit to the doctor is not a fun experience. You're weighed, prodded, and unless you're there for a routine check up, you're probably going to be told something is wrong with you. Even though we know the doctor is there to help, we dread being told, 'the bad news'. It's unpleasant to be told what's wrong with us. It's the same with our spiritual health. We don't like to hear, 'the bad news' of our sinfulness and want to skip to, 'the good news' of God's grace. This is totally understandable. However, we should always keep in mind that the knowledge that we are sinners in need of a Savior is part of what makes the good news so good! Salvation suggests that you need to be saved from something. So, don't be afraid to go to the Great Physician with your sin, He's always there to help!
