Matthew 7:20
So by their fruits you will know them.
If I could speak to a younger version of myself, I would tell little Fernando a lot of things. I'd share various bits of wisdom, maybe teach him how to play the drums, and of course tell him to not get his hopes too high for Indiana Jones 4. One skill I wouldn't be able to impart is how to pick out the best produce at Publix. It's still a mystery to me. I mean, I know the basics: look for holes and blemishes, avoid anything too soft or too hard..etc. However, I think I still have a lot to learn when it comes to picking good fruit. Watching some people sift through a pile of tomatoes can almost seem like watching an artist (or an archaeologist) at work. They recognize good fruit when they see it. Just like these seasoned produce pros condition themselves to recognize the best fruit, our Christian hearts need to be conditioned to seek out good spiritual fruit. That's the fruit produced by those truly seeking to lead those around them closer to God. Those are the Christians who inspire others to produce good fruit as well; those who are really working for His kingdom. Let these people be your inspiration on the path God's set before you. And may the only trouble you encounter on that road is the difficulty you'll have walking with all that spiritual fruit you've produced!
