Psalm 30:4-5
Sing praise to the Lord, all you his faithful ones, and give thanks to his holy name.  For his anger lasts but a moment; a lifetime, his good will.

"Take me to your leader" is a line from a Newsboys song from years ago, and it seems relevant today. I think people are reaching out and looking for a leader, a person who will act with decisiveness and charisma. Someone who is confident and will have a quick answer. From what I see, a lot of us are quick, maybe too ready to forgive, and eager to move on, when it comes to public figures, but what about our own relatives and friends?  

Do we criticize the ones closest to us? Do we expect too much of them and then become disappointed when our expectations aren't realized? Are we slow to forgive?  Do we hold grudges and complain? 

Let's pray today and praise God for this day, and thank Him for the ones  with whomHe has surrounded us. Let's  take a moment to forgive those closest to us, and move on, reflecting on the way we would want God to forgive us as His anger lasts only a moment and His love a lifetime.
