Courage"What are you afraid of? Are you afraid of the dark? Maybe snakes? Horror movies? How bout the IRS? Are you afraid of death? What about ghosts? Are you afraid of ghosts? The apostles were. Remember when Jesus walked onto the water that night they thought at first that He was a ghost. And His response to them comes to us from Matthew 14, Jesus said to them, "Take courage, take courage, it is I, do not be afraid." Courage is an interesting word. It comes from two words, "cor", and "ragio". "Cor" meaning heart, and "ragio", to act from it. To have courage does not mean an absence of fear. To have courage means a willingness to act from the heart. It takes courage to be a Catholic in today's world, a Christian in today's world. This day today, listen to voice of Christ telling you, "Take courage, do not be afraid." Act from your heart."
