Can I get an 'Amen'?
"In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Did you say Amen? If you go through the mass on an average Sunday, you'll say Amen anywhere from ten to thirty times. But so often, the word Amen, which comes from the Hebrew word Aman, which means to confirm or to strengthen. So often the word Amen becomes more of a reaction than a true response. To confirm, to strengthen, to stand before the Lord and say yes! Yes, I truly believe it. Listen to these words, from 2 Corinthians 1, "For all the promises of God find their yes in Him." That is why we utter the Amen through Him, to the glory of God, each day, this day, and especially Sunday, when you pray, and you utter that word Amen, make sure it's a true response from the heart, saying yeah God! I'm right behind ya'! I'm with You. I stand with you. I'm strengthened in You. I'm confirmed in You. We don't take communion, we receive communion. And we don't offer Amen as a reaction, we offer it as a response. May the Lord bless you this and every day. Amen."
