(Vatican Radio) Canadian media foundation Salt and Light on Friday will be airing a round-table conversation featuring interfaith leaders speaking on the “Dignity and Sacredness of the End of Life.”The discussion will feature Rabbi Baruch Frydman-Kohl, Cardinal Thomas Collins of Toronto, and Imam Dr Abdul Hai Patel, and will be hosted by Fr Thomas Rosica, CSB, the founder of Salt + Light.Entitled “Towards a Comprehensive Pan-Canadian Palliative Care Strategy,” the conversation will centre around end-of-life care, especially in light of new Canadian legislation on end-of-life issues – especially with regard to the so-called “right to die,” a euphemism meaning the right to control the circumstances in death. The Archdiocese of Seoul is holding a series of prayer services for peace and evangelization to mark the 100th anniversary of the Marian apparitions of Fatima this year.  Entitled, "Prayer Pilgrimage in Commemoration of the Centennial Anniversary of the Fatima Apparition," the archdiocese will begin the services on May 13 and continue until Oct. 13, covering five areas in the South Korean capital. It will begin and conclude at Myeongdong Cathedral. Pope Francis is scheduled to visit the famous shrine of Fatima, May 12-13, ‎to commemorate the centenary of the apparitions.  It was ‎on 13 ‎May, 1917, that Lucia, Francisco and Jacinta, tending their sheep in Cova da Iria, are said to have ‎had ‎the first vision of the Blessed Virgin Mary under the title of Our Lady of the Rosary. (Vatican Radio) Religious leaders must denounce violations of human rights and expose attempts to justify violence and hatred in the name of God. That was Pope Francis’ message on Friday at the International Peace Conference taking place at the Al-Azhar conference centre in Cairo. (Vatican Radio) Speaking to journalists travelling with him to Egypt, Pope Francis on Friday described his 27-hour visit to Cairo as a journey of unity and brotherhood.In his brief remarks, the Pope spoke of how this trip to Cairo had a special character because it followed an invitation (to visit Egypt) made by four different people: the Egyptian head of State, President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi, the Orthodox Patriarch of the Copts, Pope Tawadros II, the Catholic Patriarch of the Copts, Ibrahim Sedrak and the Grand Imam of al-Azhar, Sheikh Ahmed al-Tayeb.
