What is HD radio?
 
      HD Radio, or Hybrid Digital Radio technology has been developing for more than a decade, but has recently come to the consumer market.  In 2007, Spirit FM was one of the first broadcasters in the Tampa Bay market to begin broadcasting digital signals using HD Radio.  We were the first in the bay area to offer three audio streams of programming, Spirit FM HD1, Spirit FM HD2 The Light, and Espiritu FM HD3, El Fuego. HD Radio is an emerging technology, and will continue to grow and improve in time.  Listeners that use an HD radio will experience enhanced listening with CD-like audio and a greater choice of programming within the same audio channel.
