It is with both sadness and hope that we announce the passing of our dear friend, Mary Jo Murphy into eternal life. For nearly 3 decades, Mary Jo devoted much of her life to service in the church and here at Spirit FM. She commentated many live broadcasts from the Cathedral of St. Jude and hosted a daily program, "Growing in Grace," recording more than 5600 programs. Mary Jo also co-hosted "On the Air with Bishop Lynch", "Close Up" and "The Catholic Factor" among others. She also assisted in the production of the diocesan television mass. Her brother, Father Michael O'Brien, is a mainstay on Spirit FM's "Kid's Kingdom" program and serves as commentator for cathedral broadcasts. We ask that you remember Mary Jo, her husband Ken, children Tara and Tim and the entire Murphy and O'Brien families in your prayers. We at Spirit FM rest in the confidence knowing that Mary Jo is singing praises to God and will be praying for all of us; for as Mary Jo, in all 5,617 Growing in Grace shows proclaimed…"Lord, Give me your Love, Your Grace; For this I am rich, and I need nothing more!"
